Future Use of Beaudesert Pig and Calf Saleyards
The Beaudesert Pig and Calf Saleyards was used as a facility for the sale of small livestock such as pigs, calves, and poultry until it closed in March 2021.
In November 2023, Council consulted community on the concept plans for the saleyards adaptive re-use. The results of the prior community consultation survey predominantly supporting the plans and concept design.
It is important to acknowledge and respect the significant investments made by both Council and the community in the previous consultation process.

Why are we consulting community?
The new Council have reviewed the results of the prior community engagement and resolved further community consultation be undertaken on the future use of the Beaudesert Pig and Calf Saleyards during an Ordinary Meeting on 24 July 2024. The new Council supported additional consultation with an expanded scope and a more inclusive consultation approach prior to confirming future plans for their decision.
A two-staged Community Consultation approach has been applied to the Future use of the Beaudesert Pig and Calf Saleyards. The first stage was a targeted engagement approach to help shape the wider consultation process which commenced on 4 November 2024 and was completed on 13 December 2024.
The second stage is the wider community consultation process where Council is seeking community input to help shape the future of the site and invites you to complete a short survey.
Community feedback will help Council make an informed decision on the future plans for the site.
Your feedback will help Council make an informed decision.
As well as feedback on ideas presented, we are looking for community insights that can lead to innovative ideas and solutions that Council may not have considered, to achieve suitable outcomes for the site.
Overall, community feedback is essential for making decisions that benefit the public and help guide Council in prioritising future investments to enhance the newly opened Davidson Park.
Survey submissions will be accepted by Council from 16 December 2024 until 14 February 2025.
