Draft Land Management Plan - Dick Westerman Park
Council is committed to supporting the establishment of a Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) facility in Beaudesert, with Dick Westerman Park earmarked as a suitable site for the project.
The area of interest at Dick Westerman Park is the western most portion of the park, adjacent to the existing industrial precinct. Although Council does not own this land, it is the trustee and controller of the site.
As trustee of the land, Council is required to prepare a Land Management Plan for approval by the Queensland Government Department of Resources which includes community consultation requirements for the existing and proposed use of the land.
The Draft Land Management Plan includes details relating to:
- Existing secondary uses of Land:
- Community Markets, and
- Lease over part of the land issued to Beaudesert Community Arts and Information Centre Association Incorporated.
- Proposed secondary use of Land:
- Establishment of a Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) building including issue of a Trustee Lease to PCYC Queensland.
What is Council's role?
As trustee of the land, Council's role is to prepare, submit the Land Management Plan and facilitate a lease agreement between Council and PCYC Queensland for the establishment of a PCYC facility within Beaudesert township.
What is Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Queensland's Role?
PCYC Queensland's role is to design, construct and operate the PCYC facility, including sourcing external funding.
Council invites you to provide feedback on the current and proposed uses of Dick Westerman Park.
Submissions were accepted by Council between 29 September 2023 and 27 October 2023.

Once all feedback has been considered by Council, the Land Management Plan will be submitted to the Department of Resources for assessment, and request for approval.
