The Boonah Cultural Centre Mural
Public art is more than paint on a wall — it’s art for everyone: open, engaging and designed to spark connection and bring stories to life. This project invites residents, visitors, and art lovers to help shape a mural that transforms the Boonah Cultural Centre into a vibrant, meaningful landmark.
The Boonah District Chamber of Commerce is leading a public art initiative, supported by Scenic Rim Regional Council. This initiative is centred on celebrating Boonah’s spirit through a large-scale artwork at the corner of Church and High Streets.
Together, we’ve issued a call for Expressions of Interest to create a site-specific artwork on the Boonah Cultural Centre, located at the prominent corner of Church and High Streets in Boonah.
Now, members of the community are invited to review three options and rank their preferred design for this space. Meet the artists:
The design may incorporate elements such as a welcoming text, traditional Ugarapul language and references to Boonah’s heritage buildings, history, natural landscapes, vibrant arts scene, regional history and flora and fauna as a key element in some of the designs.
Let us know your preferred design by completing the online survey below, or collect a paper survey at:
