Integrated Transport Plan - Stage Two Survey

Council invites you to provide your feedback on the Draft Scenic Rim Integrated Transport Plan (the draft Plan).

The draft Plan defines the visions, policies, goals and actions needed to respond to growth and create a sustainable, efficient and inclusive transport system tailored to the unique needs of the Scenic Rim.

The survey consists of five questions designed to gauge your level of agreement on the proposed improvements in three key strategy areas: Roads, Active Transport, and Public Transport.

We also want to understand your public transport priorities and have a question that asks you to select the top three initiatives that you think would have the most positive impact on public transport in our region.

It is expected that the survey will take about 5 minutes to complete and survey submissions will be accepted by Council between 18 June and 14 July 2025.

Thank you for your participation to help shape the future of transport in the Scenic Rim.

Roads Strategy - Improving road safety in the Scenic Rim

We understand that Scenic Rim residents rely heavily on private vehicles to move around the region.

In Stage One, 73% of survey respondents identified poor road conditions as a major safety concern when travelling in and around the Scenic Rim. Additionally, findings revealed that increasing traffic congestion and unsafe driving by other road users are significant safety concerns for the community.

In the draft Plan, we have recommended:

  • Enhancing road quality with 580 kilometres of road upgrades, including 62 road widening and capacity upgrades, along with nine intersection upgrades.
  • Constructing 21 new local road links.
  • Implementing 54 road safety treatments and 14 road safety investigations at key locations.
  • Developing a road safety plan that focuses on driver behaviour.
  • Developing other plans and strategies, or linking into existing plans and strategies, to support the design and delivery of road upgrades.

For details of the Roads Strategy, please refer to page 12 of the draft Plan.  Specific locations are covered from page 17 to page 25.
